HIPPO VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB

Sport, Leisure & Hospitality in the Heart of Zimbabwe’s Lowveld

Hippo Valley Country Club is a long-established sporting, leisure and hospitality destination in Chiredzi, within the Hippo Valley Estates in Zimbabwe’s south-eastern Lowveld. Established in 1956, the club was originally created for employees of the estate before opening its facilities more broadly to the surrounding community.

A LOWVELD DESTINATION

Set within the distinctive landscape of the Hippo Valley sugar estate, the Country Club combines sport, accommodation, dining and recreation in one destination.

Its facilities provide a social and recreational hub for the Chiredzi community, while its accommodation and location make it relevant to visitors and stakeholders travelling through the Lowveld.

SPORT & RECREATION

Hippo Valley Country Club offers a broad selection of indoor and outdoor activities, including:

• 🏌️ Golf
• 🎾 Tennis
• 🥎 Squash
• 🏊 Swimming
• 🏀 Basketball
• 🏐 Volleyball
• 🏏 Cricket
• 🏋️ Gym

This combination gives the club a distinctly active character and makes it suitable for individual recreation, sporting activities, tournaments and community events.

GOLF

Golf is one of the club’s principal sporting attractions. The 18-hole Hippo Valley Golf Club is situated in Chiredzi and is recognised as one of the established golf courses in Zimbabwe’s Lowveld.

The setting gives golfers the opportunity to enjoy a round surrounded by the landscapes of the Lowveld rather than a conventional urban golf environment.

ACCOMMODATION

Hippo Valley Country Club has 17 villas, providing accommodation for members of the community as well as visiting stakeholders.

The villas make the Country Club more than a sporting facility, allowing visitors to combine overnight accommodation, recreation, dining and sporting activities within the same destination.

DINING & SOCIAL LIFE

The Country Club includes a restaurant and social facilities, providing a gathering place for members, visitors and the wider Chiredzi community. Hippo Valley Estates identifies the club as a recreational facility incorporating golf, restaurant, villas and other sporting facilities.

GATEWAY TO THE LOWVELD

Its Chiredzi location places Hippo Valley Country Club within an important tourism region of south-eastern Zimbabwe.

The wider area provides access to destinations including Gonarezhou National Park, the Lowveld’s wildlife areas and a range of fishing and outdoor experiences. The nearby Mteri Lake area is also associated with fishing, birdlife, wildlife and lakeside accommodation.
